Following football games on October 1st the football player of the week for the Southwestern Conference was announced this afternoon. Below is this week’s honoree:
Football Player of the Week
Anthony Tippton (Sr)
Elyria
The senior defensive tackle helped the Pioneers to their first conference victory on Friday night. Tippton had seven tackles, a sack and blocked a punt as Elyria defeated North Ridgeville.
Other Notable Performances
Jeremy Dzik, (Jr), Avon Lake
Controlling the Shoremen offense, Dzik was nearly perfect on the night going 15-of-17 for 160 yards and four touchdowns while also rushing four times for 23 yards in Avon Lake’s victory over Amherst Steele.
