Following soccer games on September 27th – October 3rd the boys and girls soccer players of the week for the Southwestern Conference were announced this afternoon. Below is this week’s honorees:
Female Soccer Player of the Week
Elley Vorhees (Sr)
Amherst Steele
A four goal week for the Comet senior, Vorhees scored once against Magnificat and a hat trick in Amherst Steele’s contest with Hathaway Brown.
Male Soccer Player of the Week
Ryan Runser (Jr)
Midview
Back-to-back soccer accolades for the Middies as junior Ryan Runser scored three goals for Midview on the week. The junior midfielder scored game winning goals against North Ridgeville and Cleveland Heights to give Midview a three game winning streak.
Other Notable Performances
Zachary Glesius (Sr), Avon Lake
The senior goalkeeper posted a shutout against St Edward last week and had seven solid saves against Strongsville High School.
John Freeman (Sr), Elyria
Freeman posted a game high 17 saves against Avon Lake in SWC play that ended in a 1-1 tie.
