The Amherst Steele boys cross country program won the Southwestern Conference Preview Meet Saturday morning with 42 points on the campus of Lorain County Community College.
Amherst Steele sophomore Luke Bowlsby won the individual title with a time of 16:43.81. Sophomore teammate Ty Perez finished in second place with a time of 16:55.06 and Avon Lake’s Matt Henry placed third, crossing the finish line in 17:34.95.
Avon Lake finished in second in team standings with 68 points with Henry’s third place finish and teammate Adam Dixon placing fourth crossing the line at 18:16.67. Avon finished third with 93 points, led by Evan Holtzmeier (19:14.63) and Franco Gallo (19:18.16).
