The 2021 Southwestern Conference Boys Golf Preview will return to Eagle Creek Golf Course in Norwalk on Thursday (August 19) morning. The annual 18-hole event will begin at 8 a.m. and feature the new-look SWC lineup—Amherst Steele High School, Avon High School, Avon Lake High School, Berea-Midpark High School, Elyria High School, Midview High School, North Ridgeville High School and Olmsted Falls High School.
The schools will tee-off in two waves every nine minutes. Avon Lake, Elyria, North Ridgeville and Olmsted Falls will play together in the first six groups, while Amherst, Avon, Berea-Midpark and Midview will follow beginning at 8:54 a.m.
Spectators must walk the course and are reminded that OHSAA rules prohibit them from communicating to any player or interfering in any way during the match. It is recommended that they stay a half-hole ahead of their family member and near the cart path.
The SWC Preview accounts for 30% of the overall Boys Golf standings. The SWC regular-season, which has each team playing each other head-to-head once, is worth 30%, while the SWC Championship September 23 at Pine Hills is worth the final 40%. Avon is looking to win its third-straight SWC Championship, while the other seven schools are attempting to snap that streak in 2021.
