Following track meets on March 22nd-28th track and field athletes of the week for the Southwestern Conference were announced this afternoon. Below are this week’s honorees:
Female Track and Field Athlete of the Week
Jordan Redinger (Sr)
Midview
After suffering two knee injuries, Jordan Redinger returned to the track for the first time since her freshman year. The Middie did not disappoint, as Redinger won the long jump, the high jump, and helped her 4×100 relay team set a meet record at the Saunders Invitational at Olmsted Falls High School over the weekend.
Other Notable Performances
Faith Kingsley (Jr), Berea-Midpark
The state-placer in the long jump two years ago took first this weekend in the event at the Strongsville Elite Meet on Saturday. Kingsley also won the 100m hurdles and finished second in both the 300m hurdles and the 4x400m relay.
Katie Clute (So), Olmsted Falls
Clute helped the Bulldogs to three event wins at the Saunders Invitational, as the sophomore set a meet record in the 800 meter run (2:23.9) and was on the winning 4×400 and 4×800 relay teams.
Male Track and Field Athlete of the Week
Cole Sigan (So)
Olmsted Falls
Sigan finished first in both the 100 and 200 meter dashes on Saturday. The sophomore also anchored the winning 4×200 relay team for the Bulldogs.
