Southwestern Conference Bowlers of the Week

Following bowling matches on December 14th-20th, bowlers of the week for the Southwestern Conference were announced this afternoon. Below are this week’s honorees:

Female Bowler of the Week
Chloe Smith (Sr)
Avon Lake

Smith rolled a 223 game and a 183 game for a 406 series against Lorain, averaging a 203 for the match, propelling the Shoregals to the 1808-1497 victory.

Other Notable Performances

Emma Diedrich (Sr), Berea-Midpark
Diedrich started the season strong with games of 156 and 171 (327 series) against Open Door Christian Schools and games of 216 and 175 (391 series) against Keystone.

Male Bowler of the Week
Brenton Dill (So)
Avon
Dill bowled games of 257 and 267 (524 series) to help lead Avon to a win over Clearview.  The sophomore is now averaging 220 a game this season.

Other Notable Performances

Evan Malloy (Jr), Avon Lake
Malloy bowled a 504 series against Lorain this week, 16 pins shy of the Avon Lake High School school record.  Malloy and the Shoremen set a new school record bowling a 2,616 series, shattering the old school record by 121 pins.

Sammy Ellis (So), Berea-Midpark
The sophomore Titan bowled games of 280 and 235 (515 series) in Berea-Midpark’s victory over Open Door Christian Schools.  He followed that up Wednesday with games of 199 and 235 (434 series), averaging 237 a game for the week.
