Avon High School secured the 2020 Southwestern Conference Boys Golf Championship Thursday (September 24) afternoon. It is the second straight SWC Boys Golf title for the Eagles.
Avon compiled 44 points over the season, finishing first at the SWC Preview, undefeated (8-0) during the SWC regular season and tying for first place (lost on tie-breaker) at today’s SWC Tournament. Amherst Steel High School took runner-up in the team race with 36.5 points. The Comets placed fourth in the SWC Preview, finished third during the regular season with a 5-3 record and defeated Avon via a tie-breaker at the SWC Tournament.
The overall team champion is determined 30% by the SWC Preview, 30% by the SWC regular season and 40% by the SWC Tournament.
