Winter Week 2 – Vote for the Southwestern Conference Player of the Week!

The conference player of the week poll is back!  The Southwestern Conference will hold a weekly poll here at swcohio.net where students, parents and fans can vote for the SWC player of the week!  Each week, athletic directors from around the conference will nominate one male and one female student-athlete from their school based off their athletic performances and accomplishments.  Voting will open on Monday and close on Wednesdays.  Join us every week to vote for the most deserving performances!

**Some votes will be disqualified if voting is found to be done illegally**

SWC Female Player of the Week Nominees

Amherst Steele – Faith Lewis (Sr) Basketball – Lewis is averaging 14 points, 4 rebounds, 4 assists, and 4 steals per game the season. She scored a career high 26 points in a win over North Olmsted on Saturday.

Berea-Midpark – Andrea Guzowski (So) Bowling – Guzowski bowled a 340 series on Wednesday to pace the Titans in their victory over Clearview.  The Lady Titans are currently undefeated in duals this winter.

North Olmsted – Jordan Giraldo (Sr) Bowling – Jordan bowled games of 131, 152 and 171 in two matches last week.  The Eagles bowling team is 5-1 in league play.

North Ridgeville – Daylan Baker (So) Basketball – Baker had 9 points, 4 steals, 6 rebounds and 3 assists to help lead her team in a victory over North Olmsted.

Olmsted Falls – Lillie Katsaras (So) Swimming & Diving – Katsaras is undefeated in the 500 Freestyle this season having won the event against Westlake, Lakewood, and Avon.

Westlake – Taylor Hedges (Jr) Bowling – Hedges had a 321 performance on Saturday to lead the Westlake Girls Bowling team to their 5th win of the season over Padua (2040-1842)

SWC Male Player of the Week Nominees

Amherst Steele – Christian Pfeiffer (Sr) Basketball – In wins over Midview and North Olmsted last week,  Christian averaged 18.5 points, 7 rebounds, and 2 blocks per game.

Berea-Midpark – Pino Dipierro (Sr) Wrestling – The senior went 8-0 in the two-day North Coast Classic Tournament, pinning seven opponents and defeating the other by the result of an 18-0 tech fall.  Dipierro was crowned the lower weight division MVP for the tournament.

North Olmsted – Tyler Horsfall (Jr) Bowling – Tyler bowled games of 199 and 190 in a team victory over Brookside and games of 183 and 191 in their win over Avon.  The Eagles moved to 6-0 in league play this winter.

North Ridgeville – Dylan Mishak (Sr) Bowling – The returning state qualifier placed 2nd overall in the Eagle Challenge and bowled games of 237, 205, 238 and 223 during this week’s matches.

Olmsted Falls – Lucas Trupo (Sr) Swimming & Diving – Trupo went a perfect eight for eight last week as he won the 100 Free, 100 Back, 200 Free Relay, and 400 Free Relay against Lakewood and won the 200 Medley Relay, 200 Free, 200 Free Relay, and 100 Back against Avon. 

Westlake – Justin Garcia (Jr) Basketball – Garcia had 55 points, 13 rebounds and 8 assists in wins over Olmsted Falls (80-67) and Avon Lake (74-68).
