Avon won the 2019 Southwestern Conference Boys Golf Preview on Wednesday (August 14) after shooting a team score of 306 at Eagle Creek Golf Course in Norwalk, Ohio. [SWC Preview Results]
The Eagles were followed by second-place Westlake (309), and Avon Lake (313) finished in third. Completing the team scores were fourth place Olmsted Falls (316), fifth place Amherst (322), sixth place North Ridgeville (343), seventh place Midview (354), eighth place North Olmsted (365), ninth place Berea-Midpark (384) and tenth place Lakewood (390).
Avon’s Jack Gerborg was the individual high scorer, shooting a two-under par 69 in the preview. Amherst’s Jacob Fitzpatrick and Olmsted Falls’ Ben Scheef tied for runner-up with a 75, while five other competitors—Nolan King (Avon), Ryan Shinko (Avon Lake), Bryan Stone (Midview), Ryan Malloy (Westlake) and Matt Romansky (Westlake)—all fired a 76.
The Southwestern Conference Championship will be held on Thursday September 19 on the Legacy Golf Course at Sweetbriar. Tee time is set for 8:30 a.m.
