2019 Girls Golf All-Southwestern Conference Honors

The Southwestern Conference announced the 2019 girls golf individual award winners and All-Southwestern Conference teams, as selected by the conference coaches. Kayla Kippes and Samantha Torres were named Co-Player of the Year.  Emily Nagel of Olmsted Falls and Avon’s Kaitlin Newman were named this year’s Co-Coach of the Year.

Avon Lake Wins 2018 Southwestern Conference Girls Golf Preview

Avon Lake showed how tough they will be this fall in girls golf on Tuesday after shooting a team total of 324 in the 2018 Southwestern Conference Preview at Grey Hawk Golf Club in LaGrange Ohio.  All four golfers from Avon Lake recorded top five finishes in the event.

Westlake finished in second place (349), while Olmsted Falls finished the day in third (383).

Avon Lake’s Paighton Masterson posted the top individual score on the day, recording a three-over par 75.  Emily Fankhauser from Westlake finished in second place (+7, 79), while the Emma Davis (+8, 80) gave Avon Lake its second player on the top three leader board.

The Southwestern Conference Championship will be held on Wednesday September 26th on the Legacy Golf Course at Sweetbriar.  Tee time is set for 8:00 a.m.
