Fall Week 7 – Vote for the Southwestern Conference Player of the Week!

The conference player of the week poll is back!  The Southwestern Conference will hold a weekly poll here at swcohio.net where students, parents and fans can vote for the SWC player of the week!  Each week, athletic directors from around the conference will nominate one male and one female student-athlete from their school based off their athletic performances and accomplishments.  Voting will open on Monday and close on Wednesdays.  Join us every week to vote for the most deserving performances!

**Some votes will be disqualified if voting is found to be done illegally**

SWC Female Player of the Week Nominees

Amherst – Marissa Del Valle (So) Cross Country – Del Valle finished 7th, earning her First Team-All SWC Recognition at the SWC Cross Country Championships on Saturday.

Avon – Meadow Smith (Jr) Cross Country – Smith finished sixth at the SWC Championship Meet, to help the Eagles win their second straight SWC Title.

Avon Lake – Erin Boland (So) Cross Country – Boland ran a time of 20:52 to help lead the girls cross country team to a 2nd place finish at the SWC Championship Meet.

Berea-Midpark – Molly Hausler (Sr) Soccer – The lone senior on the back line of defense, Hasuler has helped her defense to seven shutouts this season, including Wednesday night’s conference championship clinching 3-0 victory over North Olmsted.

Midview – Bri Bors (Sr) Cheer – On Friday Bors started by helping Student Council setup for the Homecoming Dance. Before Friday’s game, she was named Homecoming Queen and then sang the National Anthem with her senior choir mates. She then helped lead Midview Sparkle, Midview Middle School and Midview Alumni cheerleaders throughout Midview’s 28-21 victory over Olmsted Falls.

North Olmsted – Mikayla Rollins (Sr) Soccer – Rollins scored five goals in two Eagles victories over the past week.

North Ridgeville – Emma Coreno (Jr) Volleyball – In two SWC matches last week, Coreno combined for 25 digs and went 23 of 23 on serves.

Olmsted Falls – Lillie Katsaras (So) Cross Country – At Saturday’s conference meet, Katsaras placed second with a run of 19:44.9 while helping lead the Bulldogs to a third place overall conference finish.

Westlake – Teagan Walsh (Sr) Cross Country – Walsh finished third Saturday at the SWC Championship Meet, earning first-team honors.  Walsh is the first Demon to earn first team honors all four seasons.

SWC Male Player of the Week Nominees

Amherst – Aidan Johnson (Sr) Football –  Johnson had seven rushes 75 yards with one TD, three receptions 35 yards, 12 Tackles, and two TFL in a 19-0 Win over Berea-Midpark.

Avon – Chris Pepe (Sr) Football – The senior recorded four tackles, one TFL, four quarterback pressures, two sacks and two pass breakups in Avon’s win over North Olmsted Friday night.

Avon Lake – Ryan Keller (Sr) Cross Country – Ryan finished in 2nd place with a time of 16:53 to help lead the boys cross country team to a 1st place finish at the SWC Championship Meet.

Berea-Midpark – Zachary Zeleznik (Sr) Soccer – Zeleznik set a Berea-Midpark record for saves in a season, recording his 99th save Saturday afternoon, surpassing the previous record of 88 established in 2013.

Lakewood – Cormac Peppard-Kramer (Sr) Cross Country – The Lakewood senior was crowned the individual conference champion Saturday at the SWC Cross Country Championship Meet.  Peppard-Kramer completed the 5K race in 16:42.4.

Midview – Ethan Surdock (So) Football – The sophomore signal caller completed 13-of-25 passes for 156 yard and 1 TD while running 13 times for 189 yards and 3 TD in a 28-21 upset of undefeated Olmsted Falls.

North Olmsted – Sean Whelan (Sr) Cross Country – Whelan finished in eleventh place at the Southwestern Conference Championship Meet with a time of 17:43.

North Ridgeville – Tyler Richmond (Sr) Football – Richmond accounted for four rushing touchdowns for the Rangers Friday night, including a pick 6. The senior was 5 of 9 passing for 89 yards, including throwing a touchdown pass.

Olmsted Falls – Cameron Byrd (So) Cross Country – At Saturday’s conference meet, Cameron placed 35th overall with a run of 18:29.2. while helping lead the Bulldogs to an eighth place finish.

Westlake – Colin Walsh (Sr) Cross Country – The senior placed fifth at the SWC Championship meet tying his best time of 17:10, leading the Demons to a third place team finish.
