Fall Week 4 – Vote for the Southwestern Conference Player of the Week!

The conference player of the week poll is back!  The Southwestern Conference will hold a weekly poll here at swcohio.net where students, parents and fans can vote for the SWC player of the week!  Each week, athletic directors from around the conference will nominate one male and one female student-athlete from their school based off their athletic performances and accomplishments.  Voting will open on Monday and close on Wednesdays.  Join us every week to vote for the most deserving performances!

**Some votes will be disqualified if voting is found to be done illegally**

SWC Female Player of the Week Nominees

Amherst – Anna Dudziak (Sr) Soccer – Dudziak scored two goals on the week for the Comets.  Amherst defeated Berea-Midpark 2-0 on Wednesday and drew with Oregon Clay 1-1 over the weekend.

Avon – Alyssa McLellon (S0) and Marta Koziy (Jr) Tennis – The duo won the first doubles SWC Tennis Tournament on Saturday to help Avon win their first SWC Tennis Title.

Avon Lake – Leah Mangano (Jr) and Kayla Meier (So) Tennis – The team of Mangano and Meier took first place in Second Doubles at the SWC Tennis Tournament over the weekend.

Berea-Midpark – Megan Thai (Sr) Cross Country – Thai finished second overall at Valley Forge Patriot Invite on Saturday, running the course in 20:20.5 to help the Titans to a fourth place finish.

Midview – Claire Anderson (So) Volleyball – The sophomore libero collected 53 digs and 54 serve receptions in matches against Westlake, North Ridgeville and Amherst last week.

North Olmsted – Otilia Oita (Sr) Tennis – The Eagles senior captured her first SWC First Singles Tennis Championship on Saturday.  Oita remains undefeated on the season.

North Ridgeville – Emma Shupp (So) Volleyball – The sophomore setter accounted for 54 assists, 22 digs, 4 kills and 5 Aces in the Rangers match ups vs Lakewood and Midview.

Olmsted Falls – Morgan Truscott (Fr) Tennis – The freshman finished runner-up in third singles at the SWC Tournament.  Truscott finished the season 12-1 overall.

Westlake – Morgan Rodgers (So) Volleyball – In two wins last week, Rodgers recorded 22 kills, 35 digs and an ace to lead the Demons.

SWC Male Player of the Week Nominees

Amherst – Tyler Brezina (Jr) Football – The junior quarterback threw for 182 yards and four touchdowns in the Comets 32-14 win at North Olmsted on Friday Night.

Avon – Nolan King (So) Golf – King finished runner-up at the SWC Golf Tournament last week by shooting a 75 to help Avon win its first ever SWC Golf Championship.

Avon Lake – Tyler Madden (Sr) Golf – Madden shot a 36 on the front nine and a 37 on the back nine for a 73 total to take Medalist honors, 1st place as an individual, at the SWC boys golf tournament on Thursday at Sweetbriar – Legacy course.  Madden’s score helped the team take 1st place for the SWC tournament.

Midview – Zac Gill (Sr) Football – Gill posted 10 catches for 156 yards and three TD while also running for a TD in a win over Lakewood. Defensively, he had six tackles, including one for loss, one forced fumble and one INT.

North Olmsted – Ryan Sanborn (So) Soccer – Sanborn had two goals and an assist on the week for North Olmsted.  On the season, the sophomore has 13 goals and and eight assists for the 9-2-1 Eagles.

North Ridgeville – Tyler Richmond (Sr) Football – Richmond was eight of 17 for 119 yards passing with a TD. He also had 20 carries for 150 yards and 2 TDs. 6 solo tackles.

Olmsted Falls – Andrew Schroth (Sr) Cross Country – Schroth finished 19th overall at the JB Firestone Invite at Black River over the weekend.

Westlake – Will Fankhauser (So) Golf – The sophomore finished tied for fourth in the SWC Championships, shooting a 77 and finished fifth overall in the conference.
