Avon Wins 2019 SWC Girls Track and Field Championship

Avon’s girls track and field team won the 2019 Southwestern Conference Track & Field Championships at Amherst on Friday. The Eagles claimed four individual titles en route to the SWC Championships title.

Avon recorded 142.5 team points, while Berea-Midpark finished in second place with 126 points. Avon Lake finished third with 101.5 points, while Amherst Steele finished fourth with 88.5 points. Olmsted Falls finished fifth with 66.5 points.

The Eagles earned their first-place finishes from Molly Radcliffe in the discus throw (131-05) and the shot put (42-06). Elizabeth Flynn took the 400m title with her time of 58.57.  The girls 4x200m relay team of Melanie Farmer, Gaby Enourato, Flynn and Lia Sadd finished first with their time of 1:45.27.
